Helpless India watches Bengal turning into a Nazi concentration camp

Was India seen ever so helpless and insensitive to the brutal savagery of political goons in one of its most cultured state known world over for its academic brilliance?

A dalit ceases to be a dalit if he belongs to the BJP and a citizen forfeits all his fundamental rights to life once he begins working for the saffron cause. No editorials, no condemnation by the media organizations, no statement issued by the freedom watch organizations and a complete silence by the Amnesty India has turned into an extended arm of the Indian political opposition. None of the opposition leaders has demanded resignation of the Mamata government, none of the editors has expressed ???deep distress??? and penned a lead article upholding the lofty ideals of the Constitution.

A political rival, an ideological opponent deserves no protection of the law and Constitution ??? that???s the new normal of the secular commissariat.

A highly coloured and prejudiced media is a testimony of the aggressive ideological war we are witnessing against Modi and the Hindutva organizations he belongs to.

All?? this has intensified since the monopoly of state run institutions was lost by the erstwhile Left and the Congress brand of political masters. A cursory look on how the tragic and spine-chilling killing of a young Indian dalit political worker Trilochan Mahato is reported speaks volumes about the equally chilling insensitivity of India???s secular media.

A leading national TV news channel in its 560 word report on the incident did not use the word ???dalit??? even once. The same channel, however, passionately used the word in almost every report about a dozen times during the Rohit Vemulla incident (who, in fact, was not a dalit) and other Left supported campaigns.

The opening paragraph of the report, in a typical Derek O??? Brian???s ???Bengal coming closer to normalcy??? style, says-???The BJP has claimed that 20-year-old Trilochan Mahato had worked very hard during the recent Panchayat polls in which Trinamool Congress suffered some setbacks in Purulia.??? Nothing in the report suggests that its correspondent had done any research or has bothered to write his impressions based on circumstantial evidences. Everything about Trilochan Mahto is ???claimed??? and counter claimed.

This is what they do for a law-abiding Indian youth and all their sympathetic research and warmth is reserved for the Kashmiri terrorists.

A look at how some of these secular journalists mourned the death of a terrorist and a traitor Burhan Wani will show the contrast in their outlook and present their savage insensitivity for a fellow Indian citizen, who was a democratic worker, an adherent of the Constitution and was legitimately working for an Indian political party. He was not a terrorist, not recruiting new boys for his gang nor was an armed, violent activist.

Death of a dalit needs a proper political label to be mourned by Indian political parties, who often show their great sympathies for them. I haven???t seen a single dalit leader, so far, belonging to any party condemning the tragic murder of Trilochan Mahto or taking out a candle light march. Unless they belong to their flock, even a dalit is not recognized as a deserving citizen to receive their sympathies.

Another report on the incident also omits any mention of the dalit factor in Trilochan???s death -???Bengal BJP Worker Found Hanging From Tree, Killers Left Chilling Message on His T-shirt”

The BJP took out protest rallies on Wednesday and said “it had no doubt that the killing was the handiwork of TMC workers.???

It is only the Economic Times that has come out with a complete picture about Trilochan???s brutal end. Madhuparna Das, from ET Bureau wrote ???18 year old Dalit supporter of BJP found hanging from tree: killed for being member of BJP,” says poster.

The so called ???walk-over winners??? of the TMC are actually leaders who walk over the rivals??? dead bodies. It???s a simple brutal ???democracy??? in Bengal – eliminate the rival and win as a ???walk-over??? candidate. So much so that Kolkata High Court has had to stay the results of panchayat elections, which were just a sham (More than a third of the seats didn???t see any contest and the Calcutta High Court stayed announcement of those results in a directive last week.)
